Teaching in Jiangsu public institutions

Back to Teaching in China Background Contact Margaret Cooper

NZCFS protocol for dealing with teaching applicants

1. NZCFS introduces prospective applicants to Jiangsu Youxie. NZCFS asks the applicants for background information and supplies it to Jiangsu Youxie (JY)

2. If JY considers the applicant suitable JY asks the applicant direct for any further information it require. For example JY wants evidence of:

a. the teacher is currently registered as a teacher in New Zealand.
b. the degree that the teacher has been awarded.
c. a reference from the teachers current employer.

3. Jiangsu Youxie then advises the teacher it is recommending him or her to teach in one of its designated schools. At the same time JY advises NZCFS that the teacher has been successfully placed and the name of the school and the city in which he or she will work.

4. Jiangsu Youxie facilitates the completion of a contract between the school and the applicant. This can be done by e-mail and signed copies faxed between the parties.

5. Jiangsu Youxie reports the completion of a contract to NZCFS

6. It would be the teachers responsibility to ensure their travel arrangements are properly concluded to arrive in either Nanjing or any other Jiangsu city in which that teacher will be employed. The teacher is to be met at Shanghai airport by a representative of the school/university.

7. During the contract period Jiangsu Youxie will keep a watching brief on the relationship between the teacher and the school answering any questions or complaints that either side may have of the other.

8. JY will keep NZCFS informed of the teachers continuing relationship with the school. NZCFS will do it's best to assist JY to overcome any problems.
